added more memory to my eeepc 901
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008Virtualbox installed like a dream on my linux eeepc. I had problems with opensolaris’s pkg command getting into a swapping frenzy due to only 512Mb memory during a image-upgrade.. so down pcworld for a 2gb SODIMM for 30 pounds took 5 minutes to fit once I found an anti static wrist strap.
Now virtualbox can have 1gb and linux 1gb - all seems to work fine I now have a snv_101 image running after downloading the dvd image. I now have two widgets telling me the battery level ! networking just worked… once I installed the virtualbox client addons the windowing system even adjusted to the slightly odd eeepc resolution of 1024×600..
