Anglian window gets hot and suddenly cracks.

September 15th, 2008

Anglian did a really good job of our garage conversion, their men worked hard and everything went well, they even finished earlier than expected, I was really pleased.

But they have really let themselves down when I rang to report a window had suddenly cracked and would they come replace it as it had only been in for 18 months and we had a 10 year guarantee ..“Sorry Sir the window is over a year old so it couldn’t have been faulty, may I send you a quote for us to replace it..”.     WHAT!!!!!!!

Turns out that there was a cushion against the glass and the heat built up between the glass and the cushion caused a thermal stress and the window suddenly cracked and imploded. I can’t see in the documentation any words saying “don’t let anything soft touch the window in case it suddenly breaks”.. ( if there is and I didn’t see it then its my fault and send me the quote!) .

The annoying thing is that you get a 10 year guarantee - nowhere does it say they will ignore that after a year.. I sent them an email earlier but it wasn’t acknowledged so I sent them another just now with those “fit for purpose” words in it , lets see what they do.

here you can see the cracks in the window..

young blonde girl in a green ford ka in the fleet area…

September 8th, 2008

What a menace !! 9:30 ish this morning driving at speed from Yateley down towards Fleet dashed straight through the roundabout near Fleet station.  The bad news is that I was turning right across the front of her car and I had right of way but she wasn’t looking - I had to stop and let he go or die…

So if you know a yound blonde girl who drives a green ford ka around fleet at that time of morning could you educate her before she kills someone..

the wormery is now 11 months old..

September 8th, 2008

The worms are back from their summer holiday’s  ( thanks Matt!) and are currently eating a pile of old toilet roll tubes and the vegetable remains from yesterday’s Sunday dinner. We have lots of different sized worms so they are still breeding away.  The wheelie bin is now about  a third full or what feels like really good compost, maybe we can feed them a bit more… They do seem to be a bit slow in the mornings now as it cools down, time to move them into the utility room soon..

general beer enquires and to take party orders throughout the working week.

Hello all,

*** HARVEST GOLD *** NEW SEASONAL BEER AVAILABLE FROM THIS WEEKEND

This weekend sees the launch of our new seasonal beer, Harvest Gold 4.5%
abv. Harvest Gold is very apt for this time of the year. The farm machinery
has been working flat out as you can imagine in between such difficult
periods of good weather for drying. So mark the harvest season and
forthcoming harvest festival with the taste of Harvest Gold. The style of
the beer as you can imagine is golden in colour with a fruity banana hoppy
nose, and sumptuous hoppy flavours.

Please feel free to come along to the brewery this weekend for your free
taster.

OTHER SEASONAL BEERS TO LOOK FORWARD TO

The ever popular Rocket Fuel 4.5% will be available from the end of October.
Crondall's Stocking Filler 5.0% will be available from 5 December

We have recently finished another phase of the building work and in the near
future we will be installing an additional conditioning room, which will
allow for larger stocks of beer to ensure that we have a good stock
available for the busy periods.

PARTY DELIVERY SERVICE

This service goes from strength to strength and is really popular. So many
people like the idea of having the beer delivered at a time to coincide with
the arrival of their guests. We also can design bespoke pumpclips for that
special occasion, if you want to have your own beer clip, please let us know
and we will arrange something for you. Orders can be processed by

which 2 were very badly injured crashed into a tree.

Please drive carefully along Dora's Green Lane, Its about time we made it 30
mph. All of our thoughts are with those that are suffering.

3 weeks in Padstow, 19 days of rain :-(

September 1st, 2008

A nice damp summer holiday in Padstow Cornwall. luckily the house had a covered patio to sit on a read whilst the rain came down. Even so we got lots done - it was only miserable one day. Went horse riding on Bodmin Moor, paintballing near Camelford - ouch! ate lots of pasties, drank a bit of beer ( doom bar!), walked the dogs a lot. The dogs got patted everywhere in the town, met several people who had left their Samoyed at home ( why!) but didn’t see any others.

Finn likes to dig on a beach and bark manically at kites, Cleo is more refined but will dig small holes in the sand, at least the weather was cool enough for them to enjoy it.. ( about 18 degrees C average).

Didn’t get to the Camel trail as it was too wet, and the grass was two foot long when we got home took two days to cut with my eco hand mover…

now its back to the grind…

now i have a linux eeepc 901

September 1st, 2008

just a fab bit of kit, 900mhz intel atom, bluetooth, wifi, sd card slot, lots of usb ports..

weighs very little and will fit in a small bag unlike my previous steam powered full size laptop. The software has browsers/mail clients/mindmap software/music manager, dvd player/tux puck!…. and the battery seems to last for many hours…

Clove Technology did a good job of getting me one within a few days of asking, lots of email to inform me a to the order’s progress..

odd spam

July 27th, 2008

Some spam comments are obviously spam - they are promoting something immoral like poker or porn or lawyers but I see a number that are just a series of letters, no website. I can see no point in these but they must have one - are terrorists using comments to communicate in code via my little blog?

alice holt forest

June 10th, 2008

Went for a slow walk around Alice Holt forest on Saturday, Finn and Cleo had a play in the long grass but then I had to sit and pick the deer ticks off them, I got 10 of the little things off them. I worry about the kids that play in the grass or sit on it for picnics - don’t they collect ticks as well - I wonder if you can frontline your kids?

2nd riding lesson

June 10th, 2008

went well, I actually felt in time with the horse ( guinness was perfect), not too much bumping up and down, steering ok. There is just so much to remember - leg position, seat, hands, contact, back, balance, diagonals, steering…… the half hour lesson goes really fast and provides some amusement to those who can already ride in our house.

Asus eeePC 4g rocks…

June 10th, 2008

We have one of these little beast in the house now - just brilliant, the desktop works - lots of tools, openoffice, wifi , sound etc I’m going to buy one of the new 900 ones with the larger screen should I have some spare notes at some point, but the the small 7 inch screen on the 4g is just fine - youtube looks great and sounds good.. unlike my dell pocket pc I suspect it will cope with my inbox without crashing..
