I posted a nice help question to the forum, included the sd bootloader error message, and some kind souls pointed out that I was using a <strong>CF</strong> card and getting <strong>SD</strong> card bootloader messages. I switched to a <strong>SD</strong> card and it installed perfectly first time.. That proves several things.. 1) I can be dense. 2) the solaris fdisk/mkfs_pcfs -o fat=32 works okay 3) the answer is in the error message if only you can work out where. wm 6.0 seems really good - much quicker.... tim user error!
