solution to the ford galaxy hiccups.

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

It started several months ago as just the occasional cough, then it started to happen every time I went up the steep beacon hill near church crookham, then once it started it began to continue on 3 cylinders until I stopped and restarted the bus ( and then the door led flashed for several minutes).

I took it into the Ford garage and they wired it up and spotted cyclinder 1’s fuel injector was not working once the car was hot.

900 pounds ( included the 1 week car hire from the very nice folks at 1car1.com) later normality is resumed - I just hope the other 3 don’t go the same way…

young blonde girl in a green ford ka in the fleet area…

Monday, September 8th, 2008

What a menace !! 9:30 ish this morning driving at speed from Yateley down towards Fleet dashed straight through the roundabout near Fleet station.  The bad news is that I was turning right across the front of her car and I had right of way but she wasn’t looking - I had to stop and let he go or die…

So if you know a yound blonde girl who drives a green ford ka around fleet at that time of morning could you educate her before she kills someone..

Is very dangerous, the number of times a large lorry has overtaken me and turned left when I want to go straight on in the Sun campus is getting beyond a joke . I’ll get the reg numbers and report them to the police in future. in the meantime I got the Sun facilites folks to ask Hampshire County Council highways to think about better signing or new lanes. Even the car drivers here complain about the number of people who pull out in front of them from the Minley road..

Whilst driving to horse riding my daughter and I drive down Fleet High Street, Last Friday evening we saw a young man on a motorbike driving like an accident awaiting to happen - no leathers - lots of acceleration and braking.

Halfway along the road he got bored waiting behind the car turning right and did a sudden and violent overtaking maneuver just as the car turned right - oops big mistake - his road rash will sting for days. Good job he had a helmet on as his head hit a steel post that protects pedestrians from flying motor vehicles… i wonder if he threw it away afterwards?

The Gower is very nice..

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Easter holiday to Oxwich in the Gower peninsula in South Wales ( turn left at Swansea). A really nice area with huge interesting beaches ( 3 cliff’s bay/rhossili). Weather was cold/wet/windy/snowy. Went pony trecking - fun but sore. The beaches were the best feature as they had lots of rock pools with things in them - starfish/squid/cockles, at 3 cliffs bay we were alone on the beach so the dogs had an hour of two off the lead. Discovered that Finn hates kites - he turns into a monster at the site of them - need to buy a kite and cure him of that before the summer. If your ever on the M4 avoid the Cardiff Gate services - huge piles of litter ( so much I didn’t let the dogs out ) and they had removed the height restriction bars from the entry road not the exit - doh! We’d certainly go back again but not during high season judging by the size of the caravan parks and beach car parks - i bet it gets really crowded.

Cold in Norfolk

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Last week in Norfolk we saw night time lows of -8 degrees C, with a freezing fog that left everything covered in a thin layer of ice. Then yesterday it was 16 degrees C in the daytime, from winter great coats to tee short and shorts in a week!

porsche in a ditch ..

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

It was cold and freezing this morning, so I drove to work and on the way I saw a nice shiny porsche in a ditch about 50 yards after a very sharp left turn on kennel lane, I wonder how many times he fishtailed before falling in the ditch.
